26th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship begins at Karachi Golf Club

The opening ceremony and media briefing of the 26th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship was held today at the Karachi Golf Club. Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Mian Zakirullah Jan was the chief guest of the event who inaugurated the championship. During the media briefing, Patron Pakistan Navy Golf (South) Commodore Muhammad Irfan Taj informed about the championship to be held from 29 December 2022 to 1 January 2023 and its various categories. He said that the twenty-sixth Chief of the Naval The Staff Open Golf Championship 2022 will be played in Professionals, Amateurs, Veterans, Ladies and Juniors categories. 72 holes for professionals and amateurs, 36 holes for senior professionals, 9 holes for veterans, and 18 holes for juniors and ladies will be played. He said that Pakistan Navy started the CNS Golf Championship in 1995 at Karachi Golf Club with the aim of adding national level golf competition in the calendar of Pakistan Golf Federation. Since then it has become a regular and major event on the national golf circuit. He said that such competitions provide an opportunity to establish a positive impression of Pakistan as a peace-loving and sports-loving nation in the world. It also promotes healthy activities in the society. He said that the official start of the national golf competition is a sign of Pakistan Navy’s determination to promote golf at the national and international levels.
