Firing at the Pakistani Embassy; Afghan Chargé d’Affaires summoned at the Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: The Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs was summoned to the Foreign Office for the Firing incident at the Pakistani embassy in Kabul and there was a strong protest over the shooting incident. The security guard has been injured, according to the spokesman of the foreign office, the Afghan governor of affairs was summoned to the foreign office to protest the incident.
Afghan authorities have assured to ensure security, according to the spokesman, the security of the embassy in Kabul has been improved, the spokesman of the Foreign Office said that “there is no truth in the news of closing the Pakistani embassy or recalling the staff”. ‘
The security of other diplomatic missions including Pakistan has been tightened in Kabul. In this regard, the Foreign Minister of the Afghan Interim Government has spoken to the Pakistani Affairs Minister.
Afghan Chargé d’Affaires (a.i.) was called in this evening to convey Pakistan’s deep concern and anguish over the attack in Kabul on Pakistan’s Head of Mission, Mr. Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani.

Moreover, Additional Secretary (Afghanistan & West Asia)conveyed Pakistan’s grave concern over the serious incident in which, thankfully, the Head of Mission remained unhurt.
However, the security detail, Sepoy Israr Muhammad, was seriously wounded while valiantly protecting the Head of Mission.
The Chargé d’Affaires (a.i.) was conveyed that security and protection of Pakistan’s diplomatic Missions and personnel was the responsibility of the Afghan Interim Government and that this incident was an extremely serious security lapse

It was underscored that perpetrators of this attack must be apprehended and brought to justice urgently, an investigation be launched into the serious breach of security of the Embassy premises, and that all necessary steps be taken to ensure the security of the diplomatic premises, officers and staff working in Pakistan’s Mission in Kabul and Consulates in Jalalabad, Kandahar, Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif.

Calling the attack “highly unfortunate”, the Afghan Chargé d’Affaires (a.i.) said that the attack was perpetrated by the common enemies of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The attack has been condemned by the Afghan leadership in the strongest possible terms at the highest level.
He also informed that the security of the Pakistani Diplomatic Missions had already been beefed up and assured that the Afghan authorities would leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators of this dastardly act to justice.

Pakistan’s new ambassador to Afghanistan arrived in Kabul today and officially started his work.

Obaid ur Reh­man Nizamani officially started his mission as Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan today, November 4.

On the day of his orientation as Pakistan’s new ambassador, he said that his priority is to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Islamabad and Kabul.

Previously, Mansoor Ahmed Khan was in this position and ended his work in Kabul two months ago.

Pakistan has assigned a new ambassador to Afghanistan, while it has not yet officially recognized the Taliban regime, and the relations between the Taliban and this country have been experiencing tensions to the connection between the Taliban officials and the presence of TTP leaders in Afghanistan.

It should be mentioned that Pakistan is one of the few countries that has an active diplomatic presence in Kabul under the rule of the Taliban.
