Islamabad; The security was a big concern for the Chinese and to upraise the Chinese confidence, he briefed the Chinese Authorities about overall security situation assuring that additional security measures had been taken by the government. This was stated by Special Assistant to Prime Minister of Pakistan on CPEC Khalid Mansoor in his first media briefing at Islamabad, Chief Executives of eight companies established in Faisalabad Industrial Estate and Manufacturing Company (FIEDMC)-the CPEC prioritized Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Punjab  and special representative from business sector Qamar Khan a close friend of  PM Imran Khan  – were also present on the occasion. He stated that Pakistan was committed to take forward the journey of development under the second phase of China China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) at fast speed by making it a safe and secure corridor to enhance bilateral trade ties. He said he was very optimist about the mega project as the Chinese authorities had agreed to hold the 10th Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on 23rd or 24th of current month. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CPEC said security was a big concern for the Chinese and to upraise the Chinese confidence, he briefed the Chinese Authorities about overall security situation assuring that additional security measures had been taken by the government. The 10th annual meeting of Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on CPEC was earlier scheduled on July 16, 2021 but was postponed due to certain security issues in the country. Khalid Mansoor said there were nine Joint Working Groups (JWGs) of the JCC in various sectors including Agriculture, Energy, Infrastructure, Science and Technology and others and various new projects in all these sectors would come under consideration in the meeting. He said the international forces who were against the mega project would fail in their nefarious designs. Khalid Mansoor Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CPEC said the first phase brought an investment of $25 billion out of which $13 billion worth of project had been completed while the rest $12 billion projects were in the pipeline and were likely to be completed within a year. The magnitude of second phase, he said was huge as a variety of sectors were involved which would attract huge foreign investment besides thousands of news jobs for locals. He said the first SEZ under CPEC-FIEDMC was functional for last three years and during that period, number of Chinese companies had brought investment of $845 million in total. “The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the Chinese companies met with the Prime Minister today and informed him about the progress of their companies,” he added. He said a Chinese company who makes prefabricated homes has established its set up in the FIEDC with an investment of $20 million and it would start making homes in Pakistan very soon. Further he said another company has established its electric bikes and three wheelers manufacturing plant in the SEZ at an area of 5 acres and it has also started its production  Likewise a Chinese company has established an LED bulb manufacturing plant with an investment of $18 million. Another ceramic tiles’ manufacturing Chinese company has also set up its plant with $300 million at an area of 120 acres, he added.

Similarly an international mobile company OPPO had also set up its plant in the SEZ.

He said a Chinese company “Challenge” who prepares high value apparel for world renowned companies such as Adidas, Rebook and American Eagle had also established its plant which had recorded $150 million exports during previous year while it aimed at increasing the level of export up to $450 million in one year.He said the CPEC Authority would provide one window for the Chinese investors to facilitate them.

The four prioritized SEZs, Rashakai in KPk, FIEDMC in Punjab, Dhabeji in Sindh and Gwadar in Balochistan would be provided Plug and Play execution environment to ensure speedy development of industrial sector, he added.

To a question, the SAPM said an action plan had been made to resolve the issues in the projects that were facing delays.

He said since CPEC was of national importance all political parties had showed full support on this project. To another question, Mansoor said for setting up industrial units in FIEDMC, the Chinese investors were allowed both options either to get the land on lease or to purchase the land on ownership basis.

Replying to another question, he said complete transparency was ensured in all the projects under CPEC. “I have been involved in power projects worth of over $5 billion but I never have witnessed any kickbacks in the projects”. He also dispelled the impression that Chinese companies were importing labour from China saying that a large number of Pakistanis were recruited in the CPEC projects and they were also being given skilled training.

By;Asghar Ali Mubarak

Pakistan shared with the world another dossier comprising incriminating audio, video and documentary evidence on gross human rights violations, war crimes, genocide and torture against the Kashmiris by the “fascist Modi regime” in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).The huge 131-page document, along with a CD comprising 15 audio and several video recordings, GPS data coordinates of five Indian funded and managed ISIS (ISKP) training camps, graphic pictures of victims of the suspected use of chemical weapons also carrying documentary proofs of how the Narendra Modi regime was trying to portray the Kashmir Freedom Struggle as a terrorist activity. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, National Security Advisor Dr Moeed Yusuf and Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari shared the document with the media at a special briefing at the Foreign Office. The top government representatives demanded of the International community; including the United Nations and its relevant Human Rights machinery, civil society organizations, media houses and other defenders of human rights to fulfil their obligations towards besieged Kashmiris by playing their part to “end the Indian rule of tyranny and oppression” in the occupied territories. “We expect the United Nations to compel the Government of India to allow free access to Special Procedure Mandate Holders of UN Human Rights Council for independent investigations of human rights violations,” Shah Mehmood Qureshi said. In probably what was for the first time, Pakistan shared with the world the details of War Crimes perpetrated by the Indian Occupation Forces (IOF). It covers accounts of 3,432 cases of war crimes in which 1,178 personnel Of IOFs have been found to be involved including one Major General, four Inspectors General, seven Deputy Inspectors-General, five Brigadiers, 31 Colonels and 188 Majors and Captains. The Foreign Minister also demanded that the UN record names of individuals and units involved in war crimes and place sanctions on the individuals and entities. “We expect EU, the UK and others to impose sanctions on India under their specific global human rights sanction regimes for perpetrating state-sponsored war crimes. “The document states that since Indian brutalities in IIOJK largely remain unreported, “a comprehensive dossier on Indian Human Rights Violations in IIOJK has been compiled which underscores that Modi government continues to obliterate Kashmiri indigenous identity’ due to differences in religion, culture, ethnicity and political views. “Pakistan’s last dossier was shared by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar in November last year which gave details how Indian intelligence RAW in collaboration with the Afghan intelligence NDS was running 66 training camps to prepare terrorists working for TTP, ISKP, BLA and smaller outfits. The new dossier that focuses on Kashmir points out that with coming into power by the Indian hardliner BJP in 2014, “human rights violations in IIOJK reached epic proportions, and accounts of human suffering are reminiscent of dark ages.” The document gave gruesome details of the Indian atrocities since 1989 that include over 96,000 extra-judicial killings, around 162,000 cases of arbitrary arrests and torture, over 25,000 pellet gun injuries, rape of 11,250 women, around 23,000 women were widowed while over 108,000 children were orphaned. The document also provided details of the 8,652 unmarked mass graves that have been identified in 89 villages of 6 districts in IIOJK. Another key factor highlighted by Pakistan was the suspected use of chemical weapons by India against the Kashmiris. It pointed that bodies of 37 Kashmiris burnt alive by IOFs were completely beyond recognition. The document which showed images of charred bodies and pointed that the use of chemical weapons was in complete contravention to the ‘Chemical Weapons Convention’ and said that it necessitates “an impartial international investigation. “The document with a five-page Executive Summary highlighted the areas where the Indian Occupation Forces were ruthlessly violating all international laws and conventions. It gave detailed figures about Indian atrocities since 1989 including; War Crimes by Indian Occupation Forces (IOF), turning of Kashmir into the world’s Largest Open Prison, Mass Graves, Torture, Violence against Women and Children, Enforced Disappearances, Use of Pellet Guns, Use of Snipers and Cluster Ammunition against civilians, Military Siege since August 5, 2019, Kashmir Freedom Struggle, ISIS Funding, Fake Encounters, Change in Demographic Composition and Expectations from International Community. The dossier said Kashmiris were also being used as human shields by positioning women and children in the line of fire during encounters, making them sleep at military camps forcing them to dig minefields and tying youth on military jeeps. Pakistan said India had resorted to the use of snipers and cluster ammunition to target innocent Kashrniris living along the Line of Control. As many as 16 Kashmiris had been killed by Indian snipers, details of 10 victims have been included in the dossier. One of the victims of sniper fire was only 9 years old. Ayyan Zahid resident of District Kotli who was killed by an Indian sniper on 18 February 2019. India has also been violating the international ban on the use of cluster ammunition and said in July 2019, India deliberately targeted 14 villages along the Line of Control with cluster ammunition causing four deaths and 14 injuries. In June 2020, British MP Steve Baker urged the UK government to investigate the use of cluster ammunition and urged it to inspect the sites and evidence presented by Pakistan. The Ministers urged the international community not to show callousness and apathy towards the Kashmiris. They said the world must force India to comply with its international and moral obligations and allow Kashmiris to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in international law and the relevant UNSC resolutions. The document included 12 annexures including letters related to human rights abuses, a list of major fake encounters, reports and letters by EU, UN rapporteurs. It also contained a section depicting the genesis of the indigenous Kashmir Freedom Movement and how the brewing movement got triggered on 19 April 1931 when the Dogra rulers denied permission for Eid Sermons. It also mentioned a Times of London Report of Oct 10, 1948, which detailed how the Dogras “exterminated” 237,000 Muslims.Quoting the British newspaper ‘The Guardian’, the dossier said the number of enforced disappearances in Kashmir range between 6,000 to 10,000. About 2,500 women, whose husbands “disappeared” were being treated as ‘Half Widows’ and were experiencing extreme distress. Since 2010, the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearance (WGEID) has approached the Indian Government nine times to arrange a visit but has always been declined.Pakistan also demanded of the Indian government to immediately; Stop human rights violations of innocent Kashmiris, Proceed against perpetrators highlighted in the dossier and bring them to justice, Halt demographic change and apartheid by lifting military and digital siege and release of all political prisoners, Allow unhindered access of UN, independent journalists & human rights and Civil society organizations to IIOJK.The dossier also shared the GPS coordinates of five ISIS training Camps. It said evidence pointed that one such camp was located at Gulmarg, three in Rajasthan and one in Uttarakhand. “The Latitudes and Longitudes of these ISIS camps have been included in the Dossier.” Pakistan also highlighted the Indian attempts to change the demographic structure of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir and said contrary to the Geneva Convention, after the introduction of the new ‘Domicile Law’ in March 2020, India has already granted over 4.2 million domiciles (31.5% of 13 million population). The document pointed that a delimitation commission was constituted in March 2020 with the singular purpose to enhance Hindu representation and likely installation of Hindu Chief Minister. Following the amendments in property laws, all Indians were now entitled to purchase land in the disputed territory with the sole objective of converting the proportion of the large Muslim population into a minority. The dossier pointed six “draconian laws”; Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act; Terrorist & Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act, Armed Forces (Jammu and Kashmir) Special Powers Act, Jammu & Kashmir Disturbed Areas Act, Prevention of Terrorism Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act 2019 empower the Indian Occupation Forces to declare anyone as a terrorist and arbitrarily detain without any charge for a period up to 7 years. It quoted the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) report of 2018 which clearly points that “Special laws have created structures that obstruct the normal course of law, impede accountability and jeopardize the right to remedy for victims of HRVs”.The report said the Indian Occupation Forces were subjecting the Kashmiris to the worst kinds of torture. “432 case studies revealed that IOFs inflicted torture as a tool of intimidation and coercion. Since 2014, more than 30,000 people have faced 31 forms of torture including water-boarding; forced starvation, sleep deprivation and burning of bodiesThe report also identified 239 torture cells across the IIJOK; the majority of which have been established in Northern Kashmir with 65 camps in Baramula and 53 in Srinagar. Of these 144 were controlled by the Indian Army, 52 by police, 19 by the Indian Special Operations Group and 24 by other agencies. Since 2000, over 80 major fake encounters have been reported in IIOJK in which more than 160 innocent Kashmiris have been martyred. 15 pieces of irrefutable evidence in the form of audio conversations are also included in the Dossier. According to the details in a joint operation on December 30, 2020, IOFs and Police killed 3 innocent Kashmiris in Srinagar while General H Sahi, Commander of the Kilo Force, and Inspector General Police Vijay Kumar made false claims and declared them as terrorists. Later, the slain individuals were identified as locals.Again, on July 18, three Kashmiri youth were killed by IOFs during a fake encounter at Shopian and were declared as Pakistanis. In December 2020, IOFs admitted that Captain Bhoopendra of 62 Rashtriya Rifles and 2 civilians had deliberately killed three innocent Kashmiris and planted weapons on them to secure prize money worth Indian Rupees 2 million. The evidence presented in the document clearly illustrates that Indian false-flag operations were based on fabrication. The “Nagrota Fake Encounter of 2020 was another example of BJP-RSS theatrics,” which carried similarities to Nagrota Encounter of 2016, the dossier pointed.Pakistan shared with the world another dossier comprising incriminating audio, video and documentary evidence on gross human rights violations, war crimes, genocide and torture against the Kashmiris by the “fascist Modi regime” in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).The huge 131-page document, along with a CD comprising 15 audio and several video recordings, GPS data coordinates of five Indian funded and managed ISIS (ISKP) training camps, graphic pictures of victims of the suspected use of chemical weapons also carrying documentary proofs of how the Narendra Modi regime was trying to portray the Kashmir Freedom Struggle as a terrorist activity. The illness of New Zealand’s Great All-rounder is as shocking news for me as it is for millions of people. I pray to Allah for their speedy recovery. I first met him on December 7, 2003 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium when he was the captain. The former New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns is in intensive care at a Sydney hospital after suffering a life-threatening health problem. A page from Cricket Dairy of Pakistani journalist Asghar Ali Mubarak, 7th December 2003 Pakistan wins the day was 7th December 2003 and it was the fifth and final ODI of Pakistan vs New Zealand at The 51-year-old had surgery in Canberra for a reported aortic dissection – a tear in the body’s main artery – but was transferred to St Vincent’s hospital on other day night. A spokesperson for St Vincent’s said Cairns was in a “serious but stable condition”. Support for a player regarded as one of the best all-rounders of the 1990s included the former Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum, who was a young member of the squad during Cairns’s most senior days. Cairns played 62 Tests, 215 ODIs and two Twenty20 matches for New Zealand between 1989 and 2006. His father, Lance, also represented New Zealand. Cairns has lived in Canberra for several years after his marriage to an Australian, Melanie Croser, in 2010.
