President of Pakistan appoints Muhammad Bashir as Judge for Accountability Court No,1 Islamabad – Islamabad (Report ; Asghar Ali Mubarak) The President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has appointed Senior Judge Mr. Muhammad Bashir District and Sessions Judge as Accountability Court No. 1 Islamabad. Mr. Muhammad Bashir District and Sessions Judge have been appointed as a judge for three years in Accountability Court Islamabad. Judge Muhammad Bashir leaves the charge as judge on March 13 at the end of his term. Due to the high performance of Judge Muhammad Bashir, it was decided to appoint him for another three years. Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir is known as an honest judge who decided to leave the post on completion of his job. It should be noted that Judge Muhammad Bashir, who convicted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz in NAB references, had resigned on completion of his three-year tenure. Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Islamabad Accountability Court, in a letter addressed to Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice, said that the Al-Azizia steel mills and the Flagship corruption cases should be transferred to some other judge.
In the letter, the judge said that he had no objection if the cases were transferred as he could not hear these cases, they said.The move came on the heels of filing of separate appeals by Sharif, 68, his daughter Maryam, 44, and son-in-law Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar, challenging the verdict.
Earlier Islamabad Accountability Court had on July 6 found Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and his son-in-law guilty over the family’s ownership of four luxury flats in London.
The court sentenced Nawaz Sharif to a total of 10 years in prison and imposed a fine of 8 million pounds (USD 10 million) in the Avenfield corruption case. Maryam Sharif was sentenced to seven years in prison along with a 2 million pounds (USD 2.6 million) fine.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Sharif were arrested in Lahore on July 13 on their arrival from London. They were later taken to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law, Safdar, who was arrested on July 8, is also lodged in the same Adiala Jail.
Three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigned as Pakistan prime minister after the Supreme Court disqualified him from holding public office and ruled that graft cases be filed against the beleaguered leader and his children over the Panama Papers scandal.
Judge Muhammad Bashir acquitted former President Asif Ali Zardari in five NAB references. He also heard heard dozens of NAB references included cases against Ishaq Dar. He was appointed a judge of the Accountability Court for a period of three years in 2012. His tenure was extended twice in 2015 and 2018 for three years. He was given a two-year extension for the second time during the hearing of the Panama cases. The accountability court had sentenced Nawaz Sharif to ten years and one year under two different cases, Maryam Nawaz to seven years and one year and retired Captain Muhammad Safdar to one year sentence. The lawyer community welcomed his appointment as judge of Accountability Court Islamabad ,advocate Tahira Bano Mubarak Member Executive Lahore High Court Bar Association Rawalpindi, Miss Uzma Mubarak Advocate, Azmat Ali Advocate-Asghar Ali Mubarak Advocate and other in a message welcomed. udge Muhammad Bashir is a native of Dera Ismail Khan. Born in 1958, Muhammad Bashir’s forefather migrated from India and settled in the Hindko-speaking area of southern Pakhtunkhwa.His mother tongue is Urdu. Muhammad Bashir received his early education in Dera Ismail Khan. He later studied at Gomal University and Peshawar. He obtained LLM degree in law from Punjab University in 1990. Judge Muhammad Bashir was appointed as a civil judge in the lower judiciary. He was later promoted to Additional Sessions Judge and District and Sessions Judge.
Upon reaching retirement age, he was given a three-year extension. Judge Muhammad Bashir has a reputation in the professional circles for his legal competence and honesty.

صدر پاکستان نے احتساب عدالت اسلام آباد کیلئے محمد بشیر کو جج تعینات کر دیا ۔۔اسلام آباد (رپورٹ.اصغرعلی مبارک سے ) صدر پاکستان ڈاکٹر عارف علوی نے سینئر جج جناب محمد بشیر ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشن جج کواحتساب عدالت نمبر ایک اسلام آباد کاجج تعینات کر دیا ہے احتساب عدالت اسلام آباد (اکاونٹیبلیٹی کورٹ – I )جج کے عہدے پر تعیناتی تین سال کے لیے کی گئی ہے اس 13 مارچ کو مدت تعیناتی مکمل ہونے پر جج محمد بشیر صاحب نے چارج چھوڑ دیا تھا جس کے بعد سے کوئی جج تعینات نہیں کیے جناب جج محمد بشیر صاحب کی اعلی کارکردگی پر انہیں مزید تین سال کے لئے تعینات کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا گیاجج احتساب عدالت محمد بشیر ایک دبنگ جج طور پر مشہور ہیں جنہوں نے ازخود ملازمت مکمل ہونے پرعہدے سے سبکدوش ھونےکا فیصلہ کیا اور جج کی نشست چھوڑ دی جس کے بعد احتساب عدالت کے ریڈر جناب منان صاحب کیسوں کی تاریخ دے رہے تھے ۔ واضع رھے کہ سابق وزیراعظم نواز شریف اور مریم نواز کو ایون فیلڈ ریفرنس میں سزا سنانے والے جج احتساب عدالت محمد بشیر نےتین سال مدت ملازمت مکمل ہونے پر چارج چھوڑ دیا تھا، جج محمد بشیر نے سابق صدر آصف زرداری کو 5نیب ریفرنسز سے بری کرنے کا فیصلہ سنایا تھا،اوگرا کرپشن، رینٹل پاور اور اسحاق ڈار کے خلاف اثاثہ جات سمیت درجنوں نیب ریفرنسز کی سماعت کی تھی اوراسلام آباد کی تینوں احتساب عدالتوں کے ایڈمنسٹریٹو جج کی حثیت سے جج محمد بشیر نے مدت ملازمت مکمل ہونے پر 9 سال بعد عہدے کا چارج چھوڑ دیا تھا ، انہیں 2012 میں تین سال کی مدت کیلئے احتساب عدالت کا جج تعینات کیا گیا،2015 اور 2018 میں دو مرتبہ مدت ملازمت میں تین تین سال کیلئے توسیع دی گئی تھی ۔ انہوں نے ایون فیلڈ ریفرنس میں سابق وزیراعظم نواز شریف اور مریم نواز کو سزا جبکہ سابق صدر آصف زرداری کو ایس جی ایس، کوٹیکنا، اے آر وائی گولڈ، ارسس ٹریکٹر اور پولو گراؤنڈ ریفرنسز میں بری کیا اوگرا کرپشن، رینٹل پاور اور اسحاق ڈار کے خلاف اثاثہ جات ریفرنسز کی بھی سماعت کر رہے تھے،انہیں پانامہ کیسز کی سماعت کے دوران دوسری مرتبہ تین سال کی مدت کے لیے توسیع دی گئی تھی۔پہلی مرتبہ آصف علی زرداری کے خلاف نیب ریفرنسز کی سماعت کے دوران تین سالہ مدت میں توسیع ملی تھی۔ جج بشیر ہی نے ایون فیلڈ فلیٹس ریفرنس میں نواز شریف، مریم نواز اور کیپٹن (ر) صفدر کے خلاف فیصلہ دے کر انھیں سزا سنائی تھی احتساب عدالت نے نواز شریف کو دو مختلف شیڈول کے تحت دس برس اور ایک برس، مریم نواز کو سات برس اور ایک برس جبکہ ریٹائرڈ کیپٹن محمد صفدر کو ایک برس قید بامشقت کی سزا سنائی تھی جج محمد بشیرنے نواز شریف کے خلاف دیگر ریفرنسز کی سماعت سے معذرت کی تھی ,جج محمد بشیر نے اسلام آباد ہائی کورٹ کے چیف جسٹس کو خط لکھ کر درخواست کی تھی کہ انھیں العزیزیہ سٹیل ملز اور فلیگ شپ انویسٹمنٹ کی سماعت سے الگ کر کے یہ ریفرنس دوسری عدالت میں منتقل کر دیئے جائیں۔احتساب عدالت کے جج محمد بشیر کی درخواست پر انھیں نواز شریف اور ان کے خاندان کے خلاف بقیہ ریفرنسز کی سماعت سے الگ کر دیا گیا تھا وکلاء برادری کی جانب ان تعیناتی کا خیر مقدم کیا گیا ہے گریجویٹ لافورم پاکستان کے راہنماؤں طاہرہ بانو مبارک ممبرایگزیکٹیو لاہور ھائی کورٹ بار ایسوسی ایشن راولپنڈی مس عظمی مبارک ایڈووکیٹ ۔عظمت علی ایڈووکیٹ ۔اصغرعلی مبارک ایڈووکیٹ اور دیگر کی جانب جج محمد بشیر صاحب کی تعیناتی کا خیر مقدم کیا گیا ہے جج محمد بشیر صاحب آبائی طور پر ڈیرہ اسماعیل خان سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں۔ 1958ء میں پیدا ہونے والے محمد بشیر کے آبا واجداد بھارت سے ہجرت کر کے جنوبی پختون خوا کے ہندکو اسپیکنگ علاقے میں آباد ہوئے تھے۔ ان کی مادری زبان اردو ہے۔ محمد بشیر نے ابتدائی تعلیم ڈیرہ اسماعیل خان سے حاصل کی۔ بعدازاں گومل یونیورسٹی اور پشاور میں تعلیم پائی۔ قانون میں ایل ایل ایم کی سند 1990 میں پنجاب یونیورسٹی سے حاصل کی۔ جج محمد بشیر ماتحت عدلیہ میں سول جج کے طور پر تعینات ہوئے تھے۔ بعد ازاں ایڈیشنل سیشن جج اور ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشن جج کے عہدوں پر ترقی پائی۔ ریٹائرمنٹ کی عمر کو پہنچنے کے بعد محمد بشیر کو تین برس کے لئے مدت ملازمت میں توسیع دی گئی تھی۔ محمد بشیر پیشہ ورانہ حلقوں میں اپنی قانونی قابلیت اور دیانتدارانہ رویے کی شہرت رکھتے ہیں

Pakistani left handed Professional squash player Farhan Mehboob has been awarded with President’s Award Pride of Performance on Pakistan Resolution Day (23rd March).The award has been given by the president of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi to the former world No. 16 Farhan on the suggestion of PSF in appreciation of the player’s incredible performance at major international events.More over the former President of the Pakistan Squash Federation Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, senior vice-resident Air Marshal Aamir Masood and the whole PSF staff and squash circles have congratulated Farhan Mehboob on achieving President’s Award for Pride of Performance. Former President of the Pakistan Squash Federation Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan in his message said:“This fantastic achievement by Farhan would be an equal source of encouragement, inspiration and motivation for other players in general and junior squash players in particular. It is expected that Pakistan squash players would keep working hard to bring many more laurels for the country in squash in future as well”. Pride of Performance Farhan Mehboob is a top Pakistani professional squash player from Peshawar. Farhan Mehboob born on 23 October 1988 in Nawa Kalay, Peshawar.He is a professional squash player who represented Pakistan and reached career-high world ranking of World No. 16 in May 2009. Farhan Mehboob was part of the gold medal winning team at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. He is nephew of the former eight times world squash champion Jansher Khan. Farhan Mehboob is one of the best left handed stroke expert player , this is the quality which he has after the great legend Qamar Zaman. Farhan is 9 times,national champion and former Pakistan number 1 player. He has won many national and international titles and reached finals of innumerable tournaments. Islamabad: Begum Samina Arif Alvi on other day said Nowruz promoted values of peace and solidarity between generations and within families as well as fostered reconciliation and neighborliness.
Speaking at an event here to mark the celebrations of Nowruz, she said as it contributed to cultural diversity and friendship among peoples and different communities, Nowruz fitted closely with UNESCO’s mandate.
“This day is the celebration of the intangible heritage of the world.”The Nowruz celebrations were organized by diplomatic community of nine countries in Islamabad including Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Azerbaijan in collaboration with Serena Hotels.
Begum Samina said it gave her immense pleasure to attend Nowruz celebrations.
“I congratulate Serena Hotels and all the participating countries on this auspicious occasion. This is the beginning of the new year and a new hope to renew our commitments towards peace and humanity.”
She said Nowruz was a festivity
marking the first day of spring and the renewal of nature.
“It includes rituals, ceremonies and cultural events, as well as the enjoyment of a special meal with loved ones,” she said adding Nowruz was celebrated for over 3000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and other regions.
She said the participating countries had given a message of peace and a bright future awaited these countries.
“At this time, we also need to step up efforts to tackle the challenges of global warming. Climate change is already happening; temperatures are rising; drought and wild fires are starting to occur more frequently; rainfall patterns are shifting; glaciers and snow are melting, and the global average sea-level is rising. To mitigate climate change, we need to reduce or prevent the emissions linked to human activities. Climate change will affect both hemispheres of the Earth.”
She emphasized that it was the moral obligation of the whole world to keep our planet cool and minimize the use of fossil fuels.
She told,” in Pakistan, the government has taken initiative of planting billion trees which is indeed a good step and we need to play our role in this regard. Similarly, we also need to utilize alternate sources of energy for power generation from solar and wind.”
Begum Samina said our festivity and celebrations had been restricted due to emergence of Covid-19 pandemic during last year.
” I hope that the process of vaccination will complete soon and we will overcome this disease. We need to be vigilant at this time of crisis because carelessness can lead to problems.”
” Therefore, we should observe SoPs, wash our hands, use a mask and keep physical distance,” she stressed.
She wished everyone a prosperous and happy Nowruz by saying, “may its spirit of harmony, peace and respect towards humanity serves as inspiration to us all.”
Parliamentary Secretary for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aftab Jehangir, Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atadjan Movlamov and Chief Executive Officer of Serena Hotels Aziz Boolani also spoke on the occasion.
Begum Samina Alvi visited the stalls set up by embassies of different countries which was followed by stage performances depicting cultures of the region.

Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi has said Pakistan is laced with capabilities to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty, categorically stating that any misadventure will receive a befitting response.
Earlier annual Pakistan Day military parade held at Islamabad, which was postponed due to inclement weather forecast on March 23 and 24.
The traditional military parade was the mega event of the Pakistan Day celebrations which held at the Parade Ground near the landmark Shakarparian hills in the federal capital Islamabad.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan did not attended event as he is quarantining at home after testing positive for corona virus. Due to corona virus restrictions, a limited number of spectators were allowed to witness the parade.
Addressing the military parade at the parade avenue in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said we will defend our independence at all costs.
The President however said Pakistan desires peace, security and development in the whole region and has also taken practical steps towards that end.
He said peaceful coexistence is the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He said the situation warrants that the leadership of South Asia reject the politics of hate, prejudice and religious extremism to guide the region towards prosperity.
He said Pakistan wants to move forward with good intent and peace but our desire for peace should not be construed as our weakness.
The President said Pakistan is a strong nuclear power. Apart from making progress in the socio-economic sectors, the country has achieved self-reliance in defence. He expressed satisfaction that Pakistan is also exporting its defence products.
Arif Alvi said our valiant and brave forces are symbol of our independence and sovereignty.
The President said the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces in case of any foreign aggression as well as deal with other issues including terrorism and natural calamities. He said our martyrs and Ghazis are our pride.
He said anti-terrorism operation Raddul Fassad destroyed the terrorist networks across the country. The world also appreciates Pakistan’s successes in the war on terrorism.
The President also paid rich tributes to the leaders of Pakistan Movement.
Voicing serious concerns over the human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the President said resolution of Kashmir dispute is imperative for ensuring peace in the South Asia.
He said the entire Pakistani nation stands by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in this hour of trial. He said Kashmir is a jugular vein of Pakistan and we will continue to raise their voice at all forums. The President also urged the international community to take notice of the grim situation in IIOJK.
Arif Alvi said that Pakistan desires peace in Afghanistan and the world commends the efforts made by us for the establishment of peace in the neighbouring country.
The President stressed the need for harmonizing with the latest technologies including cyberspace and artificial intelligence to achieve the goal of development. He expressed satisfaction that the country’s armed forces are not lagging behind to lace themselves with these technologies.
The President said the way we achieved independence, the goal of development can also be achieved by renewing the pledge of ‘Aik Qaum Aik Manzil.’
Turning to Covid-19 pandemic, the President said despite limited resources, the Pakistani nation has handled the situation with responsibility and discipline. He was confident that Pakistan will also overcome this challenge but stressed that we need to observe caution.
The President said Pak-China cooperation and collaboration is getting stronger with the passage of time. He also expressed gratitude to China over provision of anti-Corona vaccine to Pakistan.

New York (PPA/ASGHAR ALI MUBARAK ) The Mixed Martial Arts World Champion Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov meets with Shihan Raja Khalid in the United States. Mr.Khabib Nurmagomedov is a Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) promoter and professional mixed martial artist. He notably competed in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he was the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, having held the title from April 2018 to March 2021. With 29 wins and no losses, with an undefeated record. An ethnic Avar hailing from the Republic of Dagestan in Russia, Nurmagomedov is the first Muslim to win a UFC title.Shihan Raja Khalid has recently recovered after undergoing heart surgery. He congratulated Raja Khalid on his successful surgery and wished him get well soon.Prominent personalities of American descent from Pakistan Dr. Hameed, Raja Fayaz, Raja Gul Sher, Raja Fateh Muhammad, Raja Zafar Janjua, Raja Wasih, Raja Jahaan and others were also present in the meeting.Raja Khalid told World Champion Khabib that Pakistan has a lot of international talent and every effort is being made to promote it. Raja Khalid said that the International Organization of Mixed Martial Arts, UFC and others have been contacted in this regards. He said international level competitions will be held in near future in Pakistan in which international fighters will be participated. He further stated that the future of mixed martial arts is bright in Pakistan. Raja’s Martial Arts and Fitness center Islamabad is already providing world class coaching and training for the promotion of MMA.
World-class mixed martial arts fighters are emerging who will now have the opportunity to compete in international competitions. The World Champion Khabib praised the efforts of Raja Khalid for the promotion of martial arts and hoped to that he will visit Pakistan very soon. He said that full cooperation will be extended in future for highlighting Pakistan’s natural talent on international level. Holding a career record of twenty six wins and zero losses, Khabib Nurmagomedov may be the best lightweight mixed martial artist to ever step into the octagon.
Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov is a mixed martial artist hailing from the mountainous region of Dagestan located in the Russia’s North Caucasus region. Due to the harsh terrain and the country’s coastline on the Caspian Sea, Dagestan has an unusually ethnically diverse population. However regardless of the many different types of people living in the region the dominant religion practiced in the area is Islam, which has become a uniting factor for the people in their quest for freedom against Russia. Dagestani people are known for their toughness and mental strength which may be a product of the harsh environment they are raised in; the climate is extremely unforgiving, the country has had problems with militant Islam and has also been in several skirmishes with Russia.
It was this same militant Islam and violence that Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov – a wrestler and veteran of the soviet army, wanted to protect his son from. He started training Khabib in the art of Sambo (Russian hand to hand fighting) and freestyle wrestling, something the Dagestani people are well known for, at an extremely early age. In fact, Khabib even wrestled with a bear cub at the age of nine! This is something hard to comprehend for an outsider; however, one must realize that in order to survive in an extremely harsh environment a person must be unbreakable, both mentally and physically. Khabib’s training progressed further when his family moved to Makhachkala, the capital city of Dagestan; he trained in wrestling, combat Sambo and Judo. He made his mixed martial arts debut in September 2008 and before long had amassed a perfect record of sixteen wins and zero losses. This earned Khabib a call from the UFC (Ultimate fighting championship, the largest MMA organization in the world).
Khabib defeated Kamal Shalorus in his UFC debut via rear naked choke in the third round. This win was the start of what would be one of the longest win streaks in the UFC; Khabib won the next nine fights in a row defeating the likes of Edson Barboza, Michael Johnson and Rafael Dos Anjos. Khabib was finally offered a championship fight against Tony Ferguson, the interim champion of the light weight division, on April 7th 2018. However, Tony Ferguson pulled out of the fight due to a torn knee ligament and was replaced by Al Iaquinta, a fighter with a five fight win streak in the UFC. Khabib dominated all five rounds of the fight and was crowned UFC lightweight champion becoming the first Muslim and Dagestani to achieve the feat. He boasts an extraordinary record of twenty six wins and zero losses. Khabib’s fighting style can be best described as getting mauled by a bear. He focuses on wrestling his opponents down after which he proceeds to trap them and strike them with elbows and fists. Khabib’s dominance in every fight is amazing to watch; once he gets his opponents to the ground it almost seems as if they have no idea how to react or move.
After winning his championship fight Khabib called out Conor Mcgregor and Tony Ferguson; two amazing fighters in the lightweight division. If Khabib can defeat both these competitors he will truly be one of the greatest mixed martial artists to have ever fought in the octagon.

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has today launched the global search for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization through the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and beyond. According to a press release issued by CGF Media and Communications Manager Mr. Tom Degun the CGF is the global governing body responsible for the Commonwealth Games, the Commonwealth Youth Games and delivering the vision, mission and values of the Commonwealth Sport Movement. Headquartered in London, the new CEO will drive the strategic direction of the organization as it approaches its centenary in 2030 and continues its transformation into a global sporting movement focused on community legacy, benefit and impact through sport.
