‘’Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Programme ‘’Tree plantation drive kicked off at Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Under Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Programme and on the direction of Director General Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera the tree plantation drive starts at Pakistan sports complex Islamabad on other day.The Director General Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera set a target of planting of all kinds of trees nearly 1000 at PSB this year. Through the tree plantation drive Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Programme  Rs. 500 million would be spent on tree plantation in the Islamabad Capital Region. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif ordered to all departments to take part in the National plantation drive to make Pakistan Green, clean and aimed planting 100 million trees all over the country. Pakistan sports complex Islamabad has target ten thousand trees plantation in this seasons. The Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif himself planted a sapling at the Prime Minister Office; at the starts of the national campaign that was initiated simultaneously in all the provinces. The Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in his special message said his government is committed to make the country green, with extensive plantation. He said the campaign was vital to protect the environment and counter the negative impact of the climate change. It is mentioned here that due to extensive cutting of trees has led to deforestation and effective measures were needed to reverse the change. The federal government would provide a fund of Rs 3.5 billion, while a matching grant would come from all the provinces and regions. A group of school children is also invited for today events.Over 100 events have been arranged throughout Pakistan, while Chief Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh and Azad Jammu and Kashmir would also inaugurate the scheme the same day in their respective provinces.
